<p>One of the biggest country albums of the 1980s and a virtual greatest-hits record in and of itself, 1987's OCEAN FRONT PROPERTY is perhaps George Strait's career pinnacle. It features two of Strait's most beloved hits, the rueful title track and the sly "All My Ex's Live in Texas," as well as the jaunty Western swing of "Am I Blue" and seven other slices of what critics were quick to call "new traditionalist" country. Strait was, in many ways, the Ray Price of the '80s, a singer whose ties to country music's bedrock sound were strong enough to allow him to court pop success without losing sight of what initially made his music special. A start-to-finish solid album, OCEAN FRONT PROPERTY is a landmark '80s country record and one of Strait's finest outings.

- Country gold
The songs that George sang on this album really go with the title and theme of the album no song is out of place. This triple platinum classic has got to be one of his best. Of course maybe some of these songs really do not have alot of emotion to them and really do not send a message but they are still some of his best. Like on many of his albums there are always many songs with radio potential and especially on this one you get that only 3 singles were pulled from this record. Of course everyone who listens to country has heard All my ex's live in texas, Am I Blue, and Ocean Front Property because you can hear those any old day but then you have this whole other array of songs that never made it on country radio and they are really good like Hot Burning Flames and My heart won't wander very far from you look like good singles. If you enjoy George Strait's music like many then you'll most likely love Ocean Front Property, it did not debut at #1 on the Billboard charts in 1987 for nothing.

- Early but Good
This is the earlier (but good) George Strait - a must for any collection, as it sets the tone for the great things to come from a singer who has done much for the industry and country music fans.
- A True Classic
Exemplifies this genre and time period. Still a classic. Strong album with many good tunes.
