- Testing the water...
This record tests Hank's wings a little more. He has a Bee Gees song on here! It's a good record that's worth buying. I've had mine since it was released the first time, but with the re-release of the older records, newer fans should start collecting.
I recommend "I've Got Rights" to test out. That song will hit anybody who's ever been a victim of a crime. It's a deeply meaningful song.
Try out Family Tradition. It's a good record that's well worth owning.

- Hank Jr.
This product apparently is out of production and I was able
to get it used at a reasonable price. It was received in a timely
manner. I have enjoyed this CD, especially the song, "Paying
on Time."

- More than one listen
I bought The New South and Family Tradition at the same time. I loved The New South after one listen. It's just a strong straight ahead recording. Family Tradition is a little different. It took a few plays before I realized how great a recoding it is. Hank used 3 producers on this recording and if you listen close you can hear a change in the production on the songs. The drum sound on the Ray Ruff produced songs stand out. Very different for a country recording. Hanks cover of I Fought The Law is a stand out track. It's just different in all the right ways and of course Family Tradition was the biggest hit from this album for good reason. This is a must have Cd for any Hank Williams Jr collection. Hank was on his game as a performer and as a writer.
