- LONG AWAITED RETURN IS FINALLY HERE!

This new CD is almost perfect!"I'd Love to Knock the Hell Out of You","I Like it When it's Stormy","Sometimes I Feel Like Joe Montana"and "Southern Thunder" are excellent and I believe the only weak point is "Hank Hill is King." I saw Hank Jr. in Charleston,Wv. this year and he came onto stage with the playing of "I'd Love to Knock the Hell Out of You" and adrenaline just rushed through the crowd! He is the most explosive performer of all time!

- Disappointment.

Like many Bocephus fans, I eargerly await any new material. I had high hopes for Stormy. After all, for most of this decade Hank has produced nothing but novelty songs. He even returned to doing voice-overs with his Father, a practice which he scorned in the early days when Miss Audrey was calling the shots. For Hank fans longing for a glipse of the artist who released such masterpieces as Habits Old and New and Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, Stormy disappoints on all fronts. There is not a good song on the album. Even worse, the songs sound almost identical to those on his previous few efforts, which have been equally terrible. Hank fans have often attributed his fall from grace in the 1990's to the rise of one hit wonders whose songs convey no meaning. It is obvious from a survey of the songs on Stormy that Hank is now heading down this same road. The problem is that these songs are not "catchy" enough for radio, nor good enough for a honky-tonk jukebox. In his quest to "win one one more time" Bocephus is tarnishing the image he fought so hard for in his younger years.

- Is It possible to give less than one star?

Well after I bought this new Hank Jr album i went back to my trailer, took off the belt buckles and boots, and played the tape as loud as I could on my new Stereo I bought at a garage sale. All I could think of was what the hell happened to my beer. I could have sworn I placed my case of Coors light next to my Skoal. Son of a ***, I bet the damn kids took it. Those little pricks, not only is my Coors light gone but I am now listening to some of the biggest rooty poot music since the late Merle Haggard stuff. Damnit, a case of Coors light would make this album so much better.

- Underrated album by Bocephus...

I think "Stormy" is one of Hank, Jr's underrated albums. It has some joke songs on it such as "Hank Hill Is The King" that date it a bit, but many of the songs are fabulous. Some of them send chills down my spine. "Gibbonsville Gold" is a historical song about gold rushers that I simply love. It captures something that very few songs catch...the feel for an era. I like a lot of songs about historical things, and this one is unique. I've never heard another song like it. "I Like It When It's Stormy" is pure Hank. It reminds of how I believe Hank probably feels in real life. "All Jokes Aside" is a pure love song, and it slides well into its slot on the album. After all of the funny songs, this one comes second to last. I think that was by design, and designing albums as an experience is a lost art. "Sometimes I Feel Like Joe Montana" is fabulous. I think it's another one that probably is self-reflection. It's especially poignant when the album was released. As the information up above says, the nineties were rough on Hank. He probably did feel like a retired Joe Montana at the time. It's a very good song.

Hank Williams, Jr. has made some terrific albums. This might not be his best, but it's worth listening to.

- It was unique to say the least

I am a big Hank Jr fan so I was eagerly awaiting the listen of this album. I bought it at Wal mart for 5 dollars and popped it into my audio player. Every song is good. It is as good as anything before it. Even his older albums from the late seventies and early eighties. It has elements of rock and roll here and there but is country to the core. "I'd love to knock the Hell out of you" has cool pianos and lyrics with bluesy backing instrumentation. "Gibonsville gold" is just epic! It showcases Hanks vocal range and lyrical talent. "Where would we be without Yankees" Has amazing bass guitar riffs. "Naked Women and beer" It speaks for it self. Amazing!

"Hank hill is King" Is really cool sounding with awesome drums amd the lyrics are about my favorite charcter in any tv show ever made. Buy this!
