John Denver Album: “Country Roads: Greatest Hits”

Great cd! Has all the hits i remember hearing as a child.My favorite cut from this collection is, "Take me home country roads"being from West Virginia and living in Indiana it makes me a little homesick.(in a good way!) strongly recomended for anyone who likes a simple tune from a great songwriter.

I am a major John Denver fan and have been since he first started recording his music! His music has such warmth and simple messages....many of his songs go straight to your heart. So many of his songs can relate to all of our life's experiences. I especially like this CD since it contains many of his newer songs. Some of my favorites is Annie's Song, For You....beautiful love songs! Can relate to Two Different Directions in my own life. I saw him live in concert, in a small venue, approx a month before he died....I'll never forget that concert...he was hypnotizing! Never wanted it to end and he did sing for 3 hrs...was a great entertainer and I miss him, knowing that when he died, any new music died with him.

I do not usually like re-recordings of John's songs, some of them are better than the original, such as Windsong. I like this CD collection because it has Ponies, Tenderly Calling, Different Directions, and a few other favorites on it.

This CD is nice to listen to.

I love John Denver and I don't mind hearing alternate tracks of his popular songs, but this collection seems very over-produced. Some of the songs sound like they were recorded in an echo chamber which detracts from the clarity of his voice.
